Following Paul's graduation from Murray State University in 1979 where he studied journalism he spent four years in the newspaper business only to learn the passion he once had for uncovering the news was no longer there. 

It was through settling a family member's affairs following his death that Paul was introduced to Northwestern Mutual and became intrigued with the idea that he could make a much greater impact on people's lives by helping them build better financial security for themselves and their families.

Nord adds, "My career with Northwestern Mutual has given me the freedom and flexibility to enjoy my family on my own schedule and has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with people ... people I have cared about and served."

Mr. Nord has also received the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant from the American College.
